Amy Taravella
Amy Taravella (MFA in Dance from The Florida State University; BFA in Dance Performance and BS in Political Science from Jacksonville University) holds a Comprehensive 500-hour Teacher Training diploma from Core Dynamics Pilates and is enjoying her fifth year of teaching Pilates. Amy is a National Certified Pilates Teacher (NCPT) through the National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP).
As a group exercise instructor, Ms. Taravella has taught Mat Pilates, STRIKE! (Lifetime Fitness), Zumba, aquatic Exercise and Dance, Piloxing S.S.P. and Piloxing Knockout. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Her other certifications include Corrective Exercise Science, Aquatic Exercise and Senior Fitness Specialities. Amy has trained and coached over 200 clients of all ages and fitness levels over the last six years.
Amy began her professional dance career in classical ballet, but once she discovered theatrical modern dance in graduate school, she never looked back; she has spent over 25 years immersed in that world. She founded and built the Alt Theatre of Buffalo and was the Artistic Director for over 200 different performances of theater, performance arts, music, and dance. She holds a NYS Teacher’s Certificate in Dance for K-12 and taught at the Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts as well as SUNY Brockport.
Ms. Taravella’s passion in life, now, is to inspire others to become joyously healthy through all types of movement and fitness.
