The Language of Belonging in the Pilates Space

Pilates is more than a workout; it's become a keystone of wellness that has the potential to change the lives of those who experience it. What can we, as Pilates teachers and practitioners, do to ensure that the studio space is one that calls people of all types in, rather than pushes those who don't fit within the predominant culture out?

This workshop will invite participants to look within themselves and challenge their biases in order to recognize how basic words and expressions affect the sense of belonging within the studio community and beyond.

Self-Care for Givers: parents, teachers, caregivers, and activists

Statistics show that givers - those who are of service to others - are more likely to experience serious mental, physical, and emotional health concerns over time. They’re also some of the least likely to pursue self-care. Givers need love, and no matter who the recipient of your gifts may be, you deserve the care and attention you so freely give to others.

This workshop is about caring for and supporting ourselves. We’ll discuss what self-care is and is not, engage inwardly to find our personal barriers to self care, and brainstorm actionable strategies for radical self-compassion, so that we’re able to advocate for our own needs as well as we support the needs of others.
